Leanne Tander is Australia’s top female racer.
As one of very few females in the male-dominated sport of motor racing, Leanne is not just racing to make up the numbers - she’s making history and attracting world-wide media attention along the way.
In 2007, Leanne became the first female in the world to win a race in Formula 3, an internationally recognised feeder category to Formula 1. She went on to finish 2nd outright in the Australian F3 Championship against fields of up to 22 men.
Continuing her winning ways in the 2008 Australian Formula 3 Championship, Leanne won five races, and finished on the podium a further four times out of a total 15 races. She earned three pole positions and secured a lap record at the
daunting Phillip Island Circuit. Leanne narrowly missed out on the Formula 3 Championship by a mere four points
when her engine blew up in the final round of the year.
Prior to her Formula 3 success, Leanne came to prominence in the V8 Supercar Development Series where she
became the first woman to stand on a V8 Supercar podium.
She is 100% committed to succeeding in the ultra-competitive world of motor sport, working hard on and off the
track to achieve her goals. Attractive, intelligent, articulate, personable and a great role model for all walks of life,
Leanne is a favourite among the media and fans alike.
With a Bachelor of Commerce under her belt, Leanne juggles her driving duties with that of team manager and
truck driver alongside a gruelling training schedule to ensure optimal fitness and strength.
Leanne is married to 2007 V8 Supercar Champion, Garth Tander.
Demonstrating the ability to be successful in any category she enters, Leanne is now looking forward to the next
step in her career as she re-enters V8 Supercars with Wilson Security Racing.
